El Lagartillo, Nicaragua, March 27, 2007 - A traditional wood burning stove and pot used in a rural home in a small village in Nicaragua. The logs are placed underneath an opening in the stove top and the flame is used to cook meals, make tortillas, and brew coffee.
Jinotega, Nicaragua, March 15, 2007 - Coffee beans drying in the sun at the La Estrella Coffee Farm outside of Jinotega. La Estrella is a small coffee farm run by Flora del Socorro Montenegro and operates as part of the Soppexcca Cooperative.
